The Venice Biennale(La Biennale di Venezia) officially announces that, Wang Shu and Lu Wenyu are appointed as the curators of the 20th Venice Architecture Biennale 2027. This is the first time for Chinese architectsto serve as the curators. The event will be held from May to November, 2027.
Wang Shu is the Pritzker Architecture Prize Laureates, and is the Member of the French Academy of Architecture together with Lu Wenyu. Deeply engaged in integration of traditional and modern architecture, they founded the Architecture Department at China Academy of Art, and were invited to participate in the Venice Architecture Biennale for several times. This time, they will adopt the simple and authentic concept to confront the issues of commercialization and conceptualization in architecture.
