Hangzhou releases China's first local legislation on national health

Regulations of Hangzhou on Promoting National Health has been approved, and will come into effect on January 1, 2026. It is China’s first local legislation focusing on national health.

The regulations cover seven aspects, such as optimizing health services, improving health security, building healthy environment, promoting healthy life, implementing health impact assessment, developing health industry, and strengthening digital health. The highlights are to take the lead in establishing the legal status of health impact assessment, clarifying the path for digital health, and building the full-lifecycle health service system.
