The Riverside location and metro
Kangqiao Subdistrict is located in the northern part of Gongshu District [1]. It covers an area of 12.8 square kilometers, with Banshan Subdistrict to the east, the Grand Canal to the west, Shangtang Subdistrict to the south, and Chongxian Subdistrict of Yuhang District to the north. It has jurisdiction over 11 communities, with a registered population of over 15,000 and a floating population of over 35,000. Kangqiao Subdistrict was originally part of Banshan District in Hangzhou City [2]. In 1990, with the approval of the State Council, Banshan District and Gongshu District were abolished, and a new Gongshu District was established based on the administrative divisions of the original Banshan District and Gongshu District, with Kangqiao designated as Kangqiao Town. On December 28, 2010, the transition from town to subdistrict was successfully completed, making it the tenth subdistrict in Gongshu District and achieving full subdistrict status for the entire district.
